Saddlebag style fuel tanks are common in RWD, AWD, and 4WD vehicles. A jet pump is a 3 port device that uses the vacuum created by fuel flowing through a venturi to pull fluid mechanically. In the automotive world, these are commonly integrated into the OEM fuel pump module and are specifically sized to match the OEM fuel pump flow in order to properly move fuel from the passive side to the active side of the tank (where the fuel pump resides).
When changing to high-flowing aftermarket fuel pump(s), the OEM jet pump can become overwhelmed by the increased fuel flowing through the system, causing backpressure in the fuel return line. In many cases, backpressure is so severe, fuel rail pressure cannot be properly decreased and will affect engine tuning. Furthermore, without a properly designed jet pump, fuel cannot be effectively transferred, thus fuel starvation can become problematic.
The Radium Venturi Jet Pump uses a machined aluminium housing that is anodized and laser engraved. The kit includes 3 interchangeable orifices that were precisely calculated and vacuum pressure tested with multiple pump combinations.
ORIFICE FITTING VS FUEL PUMP FLOW
GREY ORIFICE: less than *250LPH
BLACK ORIFICE: *250LPH - *500LPH
GREEN ORIFICE: greater than *500LPH
*Pump flow calculations at 43.5psi. Orifice recommendations are suggestions only.
All 3 hose barbs connections are compatible with 5/16" or 3/8" ID hose. Also, the crossover siphon port can be easily adapted to common hoses as it uses 6AN ORB (9/16-18 O-ring) female threads.
NOTE: WHEN INSTALLING, DO NOT FORGET TO REMOVE THE OEM VENTURI JET PUMP! The system will NOT work properly if it’s trying to push through the restrictive OEM venturi jet pump.
